SINOPSE

Na seca de 1932, no Ceará, foram criados vários campos de concentração para aprisionar e impedir que os flagelados chegassem à cidade de Fortaleza. Militares e representantes da sociedade civil decidiram escravizá-los, legitimando os interesses da elite econômica por meio de políticas de repressão e sob a influência da teoria eugênica européia. Remanescentes narram fragmentos de memórias e lutos interrompidos, testemunhados nos casarões em ruínas das concentrações e no culto das "almas da barragem", resistentes ao forte apagamento histórico.

SYNOPSIS

In Ceará's 1932 drought, several concentration camps were created to imprison and prevent the refugees from reaching the city of Fortaleza. Military and civil society decided to enslave them, legitimizing the interests of the economic elite through policies of repression under the influence of European eugenic theory. Remnants narrate fragments of their memories and unaccomplished mournings, witnessed in the ruins of the concentration camps and in the cult of the "souls of the dam", resistant to the strong historical erasure.
